Why is it important to regularly see the Dentist & Hygienist?
Updated: Feb 19
Regular Dental and Hygienist appointments are vital to maintain good oral and dental health. Maintaining these appointments, as your Dentist advises, will health prevent build up of plague, staining, gum disease and help prevent the need for dental treatment in the near of far future.
These visits will help you maintain good dental health as your Dentist will check the current status of your oral health and any issues will be addressed and prevented straight away, rather then avoiding the Dentist and situations deteriorating. Diet, lifestyle and dental techniques should be advised to help you at home and during the period of time between your dental appointments.
Going to the Dentist and Hygienist shouldn't be a daunting or intimidating experience - it's important to make the clinical staff aware of anything, no matter how big or small, that may make you feel more comfortable or uncomfortable. It's about making your appointment right for you and feeling as though you have been dedicated enough time and focus to what you may need. The whole experience is meant to be beneficial and not scary, so it should be an evaluation and discussion between you and the clinical staff of current situations and future treatment plans and advise.
